Red Tide Outreach Project with Ringling College of Art & Design
Date: December 1 - 7, 2010
Time: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Mote's Immersion Cinema

The Art of Red Tide

Florida’s red tide blooms can have a huge impact on communities, causing concerns about everything from a bloom’s impact on a local economy to how it affects marine animals like manatees and sea turtles.

To help communicate information about red tides to the public, students at the Ringling College of Art and Design have created new artworks that are on display from Dec. 1 through Dec. 7 in Mote’s Immersion Cinema. They include everything from a comic book to sculpture to movies and blogs.

Please visit the show today and vote for Best in Show.

Also showing at the top of every hour: “Red Tide Refrain,” a hi-def red tide documentary by the Essential Image Source Foundation, produced in conjunction with Solutions to Avoid Red Tide (START).
